Since We Last Chatted...
My husband and I visited Seattle, Washington to see Boy #2, Boy #3 & #3's fiancé. We had a great visit. Beautiful weather for some sightseeing. Saw the bubble gum wall 🤢
Boy #2 asked how much I’d pay him to lick it. I offered him a tank of gas to stay three feet away from it at all times.

The boys are still as cute and cuddly as ever.

Boy #2 will be getting married in October. Regan is from the PNW (Pacific Northwest, I now know!), so she was our tour guide.

While we were in Seattle, Boy #4 and his girlfriend were in Boston, where he proposed under the ancient willow. Our family is growing!

And our sweet Sylvia turned 1! She's growing up so fast! Her big sister will be 3 this weekend and she has a little brother on the way. We like to stay busy in the Seckman world!

Yeah, yeah, that's all great, but what about the writing? I finished the current WIP, but the ending is still tripe that needs some reimagining. I could be insecure about that, but I'm okay with it. I've spent the last year working on a short story anthology with my young writer's group and when I tell them the stories are good but they still need this or that tweaked...they have that look of pained insecurity I always felt when someone told me my original words weren't perfect.
We have to accept Michael Crichton's wise words about great books not being written—but being rewritten. The insecure part of me wants to swap great for good. Eeps. Insecurities remain!
The Question of the month!
Do most of your story ideas come from one place (the news, dreams, etc.) or do they hit from all over the place? Like everything else about me. They come from various scattered places.
