Happy Halloween Giveaway

I'm not one of those people who looks forward to summer ending. You can keep your pumpkin flavored everything, I want my coconut-scented sunblock season back. I suppose fall does mean Halloween and Halloween means candy and horror movies! So, let's enjoy that!

My son is enrolled at UCLA's film school, so he always has neat movie tips and trivia.

Cole, Boy #2, the future producer

He recommended Host. It was the first movie produced during the Covid lockdown and was filmed via Zoom. Besides being scary and entertaining, it's also a reminder that where there is a will, there is a way!

I watched it the other night and it was really good. It's only an hour long, but offers plenty of jump scares. It's well written, well acted, and the Zoom effect is a perfect reflection of the current times. Well worth watching!

The movie is offered on Amazon Prime's Shudder streaming service. You can get a free trial subscription for a week.  I'm don't believe it's available on any of the other streaming services.

Another October bonus: my new book is out! Thanks to all of you who have bought it and reviewed it. That's so very much appreciated. To celebrate the new release, I'm hosting a give away. There's three things to win- gift card, Halloween goodie pack, or autographed book.

Have you tried Link Tree? It's a great way to consolidate all your social media spots. Instead of adding whole lists of places you can be followed, you can list them all with Link Tree and people can check you out in one quick click. Here's my Link Tree, if you want to check it out.

SADLY in my area we went from 85 degrees to below 50 within a day. Yes... not ONE day in the 60's or 70's! Today I woke up to SNOW!!!! ACK! Snow in OCTOBER~ EEEK! Not loving this at all. Enjoy your movie marathons and stay warm!

  6. I loved your opening. Me, I love fall...the wind, weather, soups... I've heard of link tree and checked them out, but for me, it's just another place to maintain. :) So, I just put all the info in my sidebar.

  7. You must know that from your stories, I already love your son. But that warm-loving smile, that gingerly appearance, and that UCLA BRUINS SHIRT!!? Woot. He has my heart and cheer. You must tell me when you visit. I'd love to meet up in person.
Oh, and not since I was a Bruin, did...the Dodgers win the world series!

Happy Halloween and cheers to all sweet things.

  8. Host sounds interesting. Filmmakers and other creative people are going to have to adapt to different ways of working, at least for a while, and Cole will be right there at the cutting edge. Congrats on the new book!
