Hello Seckmanaholics,

I’m doing a special Christmas in July tour, and Elizabeth has allowed me to crash on her metaphorical couch.

Her sexy couch!

I’m actually kind of excited to be writing on our nation’s birthday, well alright it’s not TECHNICALLY the U.S.’s birthday, but let’s just roll with it. Because I want to talk about America.

 “You’re all weirdoes”

I love my country. I really do. I mean, where else could someone like me write a series of books about a low-rent private investigator who solves mysteries, flirts, and makes pop culture references about Moonlighting?

On sale, right now over at Amazon!

And I’m so proud to have been born and raised in the states, having a pretty rich cultural background. I’ve got German, Irish, Dutch, English and even Cherokee ancestry. I’m just a big ole melting pot.

And a sexy beast.

Is America perfect? Not by a long shot. Have we always done the right thing? Hah, not even close. Would I trade living here for anywhere else? Absolutely not!

So, in closing, let me just throw this out there. Where else but America could everyone’s sweetheart Bill Pullman have the most awesome speech ever, as brought to us by a German filmmaker.

Jay Mims doesn’t know the meaning of the word quit! He lives with a passive-aggressive Dalek named Steve, and when not writing is learning the mandolin. He writes books and is far funnier on Facebook then in real life. He is terrible at Twitter. His next book "The Gray Ghost Inn" is due out October 15, 2013. Feel free to email him here.

  2. Wonderful! I LOVE America too, even though I'm British and have only visited once. I think you guys and gals are totally awesome. Not only do I love the way you speak, you also make the best movies in the world. If I could live anywhere in the world, I would choose North America :D
    Happy Fourth July!!

    1. If only the whole world could have it as good as we've got it, Gary. We have our problems, but compared with some places, we are living in paradise.

As a veteran, I always appreciate it when citizens love our country despite its faults. There really is no place better.
