Weekend Revelations...

Spring is springing and today the blog thoughts are just tiny little buds poking up from the dirt that is my brain...

So here they are...random thoughts in  random colors of perfection...

  • I have not and will not die or lose blessings from God for not forwarding, liking, or reposting scripture. We're tighter than that. He gets me, I get Him. We've moved past the I <3 God all over my notebook to prove it's real.
  • After a whole weekend of Jersey Shore I figured it out...Snookie is an adult trapped in a five year old's body, with a five year old's brain, and a five year old's fashion sense. But we all love five year olds, right?
  • Yet another epiphany struck...I commented to hubby..  "Mike the Situation (of Jersey Shore) isn't all bad." He quickly scoffed and informed me I was lucky he married me or I would have ended up with a real fixer upper pain in the, um, rear. Revelation? He doesn't even realize he WAS my renovation, but tis all right...let him think he was born with it.
  • Spent the weekend trying (and mostly failing) to get the hang of Twitter. Thought I was tweeting, but instead I was private messaging some guy I have never met. He probably thinks I'm a stalker. I am expecting either a restraining order or roses to arrive today.
  • Joined Pinterest. Got a cookie recipe, yay! But then wondered, now what do I do? Add it to Twitter category.
  • Signed up for Goodreads. Sweated over what paradigm I would execute in my book reviews, then it occurred to me that I'm not being paid to be Siskel and Ebert and just started tossing stars this way and that. Done with books I'm reading...now what the heck do I do here?
  • Finally, my family was like WHY? Why are you on these sites (and griping) if you don't GET them? Because sillies...Rachelle said to do it. And who's Rachelle, you ask? She's Rachelle Gardner of Books and Such and she's been my agent for years...though she doesn't know it and I don't ever pay her...but her blog is my instruction manual. If you have never checked it out...I say it's a do...she can be your super secret agent too...for free. Just click HERE.

Have a great week...catch you in the comments. :)

  1. Wow... my first takeaway from this is that you are one tough cookie indeed. You survived watching an entire week of Jersey Shore??? You are my hero. Shows like that are why I cancelled my cable subscription back in 2006 :-)

My second takeaway is that you must have an adventurous spirit! I haven't embraced social media beyond a couple of writer's communities and Facebook. A co-worker did point out that I should open a Twitter account just to secure my own identity, but ick... More power to you!

    1. My kids were watching it and I watch whatever they watch...so I can be hip like them. LOL. Me hip! I am about as adventurous as a chick in a new mall.

    1. And people keep telling me how easy it is. I twitter about as well as a pigeon in a park. Just leaving bits of you know what on the sidewalks.

  5. I unrolled the toilet paper, wrote entertaining comments all over it with a sharpie then re-rolled it so that my family can always be entertained no matter what they are doing. thats what i did this weekend.

  6. Ohh, you make me giggle! Twitter and Pinterest are both lots of fun. Unfortunately, they are the kinds of fun that can suck hours out of your day so maybe it's better to avoid them lol!

  7. Ha ha ha! That's hilarious about Twitter. It's sort of hard to catch on, but once you do, you get it. :) I'm not sure if I'm following you, so I'll look you up! :D

  8. Yeah, I'm kind of refusing to get into Pinterest. Maybe once I get my novel completely done, but I am distracted by way too many other things.

And Jersey Shore...you poor, poor woman.

    1. It is time consuming, but I justify it by calling it networking!

  12. I've avoided Twitter, I'm kind of interested in Pinterest (but unsure how I'd use it) and love Goodreads. I've only got 10 friends, but it's fantastic that for the first time ever, I've got a place to list all the books I want to read!

    1. I don't know how to use it either. Honestly, not real sure what to do with Goodreads either, but I'll keep hanging around till I get it.

  13. I couldn't find anyone but Chantele on twitter. See why I get so frustrated with Twitter? GRRR.

  14. The twitter thing can be frustrating... plus they changed the format. The little quill in the top right hand corner is where you click to tweet unless you're replying to someone. I found the twitter chats really help get you going, but I only know about kids ones. I'm on there if you want more followers: jessStorkwrites
