IWSG

Welcome to this month’s post on all things insecure.
Sigh.
This month I’m swimming in insecurities, but don’t worry about me…I’m in a prevention training and found out that my insecurities are due to my age. 50ish women are in life transitions that are as stressful to us as going to school is for a five-year-old.

That explains why I often cry and have to be shoved into the car by my husband to get me out of the house.

I also blame the midlife hot flashes. They’re not powering me up, they’re melting my brain cells.

Add in the fact that I also haven’t been writing or surfing the blogosphere consistently.  A writer who isn’t writing is bound to be going off the rails a bit. And blogging has always been my connection to writing, so when I’m not blogging, I’m forgetting I’m a writer.
Fortunately, I have the IWSG to pull me back in at least once a month. Next month…I hope to report that I’ve written a few chapters and have been present in the cyber sphere more than than this month.

Thanks to this month’s awesome co-hosts for the October 5 posting of the IWSG are Tonja Drecker, Victoria Marie Lees, Mary Aalgaard, and Sandra Cox!
Big hugs to you guys!! It’s a lot of work co-hosting and without co-hosts, we wouldn’t have an IWSG to keep pulling slackers like me back in.

Oh yeah…the question!!! What’s my favorite part of romance/women’s fiction? Happy endings! Not the kind you find in a massage parlor, creeper. The concept of troubles getting ironed out and stories closing with happily ever afters.

Some things happening with the IWSG!

  10. I understand completely what you are dealing with. Glad you can understand the big change in your body. Everybody tells you it will pass, and it will. In the meantime appreciate your hubby and the amazing miracle our bodies are..hot flashes and all. It's ok to take a break while dealing with this life changing time. Hugs.

  11. Not writing can put a woman in a black hole. Best sit with a pen in your hand. I'd also keep a mini fan and some tissue near by. :-)

  12. Glad you're reconnecting as a writer through the IWSG. Sorry for what you're going through. I do agree that we go through some of our hardest times during 50's and after. I sure have. Hope you feel better soon.

  13. I'm so sorry you're struggling! Menopause is a b*tch. The hot flushes, the insomnia, the mood swings... and of course life doesn't stop because you don't feel good. Hang in there. I hope you're able to find your writing (and life) mojo soon.
