Some Books, An Award, and an Update!
Chatter around the blogosphere says some bloggers have disappeared. You may have started to think I was one of them...but come on...you know me better than that! I may not arrive in a timely fashion, but I always arrive.
The summer wrap up was pretty chaotic. So many things to do during a time when all I really wanted to do was slow down and absorb the last of the summer fun and memories.
But I can't complain. We had a great summer. Sent all the boys back to school on Monday and I am slowly getting all the odds and ends caught up.
Kristin Smith of Swords and Stilettos welcomed me back with this little award! Kristen is all sorts of amazing and sweet. And she's a fellow mother without a daughter, so that pretty much makes her a pal soul mate. Thanks much Kristin :)
(Now I must admit, I've never really understood what a versatile blogger is...perhaps it means I can blog in jammies or jeans. On laptop, desk top, or hand held?)
The challenge is to tell you seven things about me.
1. Bitchy people annoy me. They make me bitchy and then I feel guilt.
2. I hate guilt.
3. I think the people who complain the most, work the least. I suppose the others are too busy working to stop and gripe.
4. I do not regret not having a daughter.
5. I believe God guides all things in my life, and no matter how bad things seem, He will work them for good.
6. I flip coins after praying to make the hard decisions.
7. I don't see why people say I'm a red head. My hair's blond. It says so on the bottle.
A few other things I need to catch up on!!!
Mary Pax has a new book out and it's on sale for .99, might be FREE if Mary is able to have it her way with the book masters at Amazon. Get your copy HERE!!
Jay Noel and Miranda Hardy's new book is on pre-order. Sounds like an awesome read.
Pre- order HERE!!!
This book is at the top of my read list. It's the second book in a trilogy, so when they are all three available, I'll have a read fest!
Get your copy HERE!!
I haven't disappeared. I'm just reading and having some fun medical tests, including a mammodamngram and a colonoscopy.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
My mammodamngram is coming too, but I've managed to escape the colonoscopy, but the day is coming. I have another five years, right?
DeleteI like number five! And I think you may be right that complainers do the least amount of work.
ReplyDeleteI haven't gone anywhere!
You are the most faithful blogger ever! That is why you are the ninja master!
DeleteI had nominated you too once, but I think you had some excuse of being on vacation to a beach with your family. Pfft! ;)
ReplyDeleteHahah, #7 made me giggle.
Thanks Loni! You're one awesome chick :)
DeleteI hold to #5 like a lifesaver ;) and I love #1.
ReplyDeleteAs long as you pop in every now and then, all is well.
It is a life saver. Yeah, I think popping in when I can is better than checking out all together.
DeleteI nodded at #3. You know, 20% of the people do 80% of the work. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's so very true. My grandma always said if you want something done, ask the busiest guy on the block.
DeleteI don't do guilt. It takes up too much precious time. I have to M. Pax's book!
DeleteI envy you Bish. I seem to suck up guilt as I breathe oxygen. Ugh.
Delete'says so on the bottle.' So cute
ReplyDeleteAnd truthful :)
DeleteI might have to try #6 sometime! We flip coins at work sometimes to see who has the first lunch, so why not? =D
ReplyDeleteAnd here's the secret, if you flip and feel inclined to flip again to change the answer..well, then you know what your heart is telling you, right? It's a win win.
Deletelol leave all up to the coin, nice. And yep, those who do the least whine the most.
ReplyDeleteYes sir, they do.
DeleteCoin toss! Now I know how to make my tough decisions, thanks :-) hahaha ... please don't ever go away!
ReplyDeleteI'm not going anywhere Jamie. I may be slow as all get out, but I will never just check out completely.
DeleteI don't like complainy whiny people any more than I like bitchy people. Totally agree with #5!
ReplyDeleteOh man. Whiners might be worse. I suppose the sort of bitching I am complaining about is the whiney sort of bitching, not the take charge give em' hell sort of bitch. I don't mind a righteous bitching.
DeleteI love number 7! I, apparently, am 'Golden Brown' ;-)
ReplyDeleteYou are most certainly golden!!
DeleteHa! My mom bleaches her hair blonde too, and every time we're out in public together, people always comment on how I get my beautiful blonde hair from my mother. Then we have to explain that my mother compares the color cards to *my* hair for the match.
ReplyDeleteThat's one way to tighten the mother daughter bond.
DeleteI love that you flip coins after prayer to make the tough decisions. That's an awesome strategy! And I'm starting to need a refund for every hair that refuses to take to the the 'all-natural' contents in those bottles.
ReplyDeleteHugs, girlfriend. Have a mai tai and a good weekend.
Those grays are tough little critters to tame!
DeleteThanks for the virtual mai tai. Hope life is treating you well.
Hahaha… Liz, no one else has your sense of humor. :) You HAVE to be a red head. So we're twins. :)
ReplyDeleteI have a little red. I could have a bit more when I go to Wal Mart. ;)
DeleteI want to read Death Knocks too; it sounds creepy. And congratulations on your award.
ReplyDeleteIt does sound like a good read. Definitely on my list!
DeleteYay! Welcome back. I'm glad to see summer ending. I love September and October--my favorite months of the year. They never last long enough.
ReplyDeleteI always hate to see summer go, but I'm usually so exhausted that I am ready for a bit of a break.
DeleteI KNOW you deserve that award! congrats to everyone's releases and soon to be's. love always!
ReplyDeleteLove back at ya, lady!!!
DeleteLove your random facts! And thanks for the kind words—you are too sweet! :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm blonde too... :)
You're deserving of every word :)
