Farewell to a Friend
Last night I heard the news that Tina Downey was gone.
Stunned doesn't cover it.Tina was one of the nicest bloggers with such a wonderful sense of humor.
She had her medical issues, but she never seemed to to let them get her down.
She was so full of hope.
I never dreamed she wasn't going to be all right.
When I got the email from Alex that Tina was gone, reality and feeling were at total odds.
It just couldn't be.
Sadly, reality, on Earth, always wins.

So, today...we say good bye to a friend.
One consolation is that as long as her words survive, she is still with us.
Her humor, her insight, her caring spirit...
you can find them all here on her blog.

Heaven is a little brighter today. Our world a little dimmer.

My feelings exactly, Elizabeth. I never realised she was so ill and wouldn't be okay. I'm touched by the number of people who have visited her blog to say their farewells - it will hopefully be a comfort to her family and friends in the months to come.
ReplyDeleteIt came as a shock to me, for sure. And it is touching how supportive bloggers are.
DeleteI was also shocked when I heard the news. Our blogging world will never be quite the same without her.
ReplyDeleteNo, it won't. She had a special sort of spirit that can't be replaced.
DeleteYou're right that stunned doesn't cover it. We will miss her so much.
ReplyDeleteYes, we will.
DeleteI was also shocked.
ReplyDeleteI came to know her quite well. Such a bubbly spirit...
It's a massive loss.
She seemed invincible.
DeleteStunned definitely doesn't cover it. She dropped by our blog just a matter of days ago to say hi and seemed in high spirits on her own blog. I still can't believe it. She'll be missed deeply.
ReplyDeleteI know, I never dreamed she wouldn't make it.
DeleteWe just never know when our time is up, can happen quick. A great tribute.
ReplyDeleteYou're right there!
DeleteShe will be missed. Nice dedication today.
ReplyDeleteThanks Loni.
DeleteThere have been some wonderful dedications to our beloved Tina. She would have got the warm fuzzies (her phrase) seeing the outpouring of love and affection all over cyberspace.
ReplyDeleteI know you're right.
DeleteA light that will shine upon us from Heaven. We'll have a star that laughs.
ReplyDeletewe will, for sure.
DeleteSo sad. She was a bright light in the community.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more.
DeleteShe definitely left her mark on the world--a very positive one.
ReplyDeleteThat's the most important thing.
DeleteI was sad reading the announcement. She will be missed.
ReplyDeleteIt honestly floored me. I never expected it.
DeleteWonderful dedication. Even though I didn't know her well, I was impressed by her positive attitude which was evident by the title of her blog. I know she will be missed in the blogging community. Sending prayers and hugs to her family and friends.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kristen.
DeleteSo very sad that those who love her must do without her consistent positivity for a time. She made the world a better place for those who knew her.
ReplyDeleteShe most certainly did Jeff.
DeleteShocked and saddened when I heard the news. Sending my thoughts and prayers to Tina's family and friends.
ReplyDeleteHugs Suzanne.
DeleteMe too, so sad and shocked. Thanks for visiting my blog, and I'm glad I've found yours also... I'm slowly making it to all my GP buddies' blogs... I really liked Al's comment here, a star who laughs. Perfect.
ReplyDeleteIt shouldn't have taken me so long Lisa. But life fools us into thinking we always have plenty of time.
