It's challenge day sixteen! Can I manage to post twenty-six times in April? Can YOU answer the questions I ripped  gathered from my handy dandy, old-school, flip through paper pages encyclopedia?

Get them all (or a few) right and you could win the boobie prize!

                     Step Right up and Play...
                          Name That Princess!!!

1.
Technically,  the Duchess of York.
2.
She was an American movie star, before becoming a princess.

3.
The hair do alone should be your only clue!
4.
The Duchess of Cambridge
5.
She might be fiction, but her love for Aladdin is real.
Bonus:
Hearts broke the day she died.
Who doesn't miss that smile?

(1. Fergie...Sarah Ferguson; 2. Princess Grace of Manaco; 3. Princess Leia; 4.Kate remains Duchess of Cambridge (not Princess William...thanks to Annalisa Crawford the clarification! She will become Princess Catherine of Wales once Prince Charles assumes the throne and William takes the title of Prince of Wales); 5. Princess Jasmine; Bonus: Princess Diana...sigh.)

  2. Whoo! Did so much better on this one (five out of six).

Didn't know Princess Catherine is technically known as Princess William. Does that mean I get a mark down?

    1. Absolutely not!

(I'm not even certain that's totally correct...different websites said different things...I went with what was provided by a national newspaper, assuming they did their fact checking!)

  3. I got four out of six (3-bonus). Probably three now with the whole Princess William thing, had no idea.

  4. I got them all right except 5. I don't watch many Disney movies.

  5. I got them all today! A miracle LOL. Have to admit Kate's hat made me chuckle. Love the Royal hats. :)

    1. Crown for you too!!

Those hats are quite, um, decorative. I could handle a hat culture...it'd be a nice switch from my lazy pony tail!

  6. See? I come over here and get a big boost from you after slinking away from Alex's. LOL! You and I seem to be the only ones who haven't watched Princess Bride lately. But here, I knew all of the princesses right away!

  10. Probably the only time I'll get them all correct. (:

  11. Kate isn't Princess William, she's the Duchess of Cambridge. I did a bit of digging (because she's never even been referred to once by that name) and the only mention of it is a Yahoo answer from 3 years ago. It might have been technically correct at that time, but since William was made Duke of Cambridge on his wedding day, that title supersedes the Princess she would have been, because a Duchess is of a higher rank.

I hope that clears things up, or at least doesn't make them more confusing.

    1. Yay!!! I knew you or Kyra would know. I found all sorts of answers. I went with something I found, I believe on a USA Today article. But, I trust you most...so I am off to change the answer!!

    2. I went and read more...and it only confused me more!! Will she ever get to be princess? Or does she have to wait until he is king to be the princess?

Seems my desire to make her a princess has lead me down a rocky path.

    3. And is it true that they were conferred the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge because that monarch was one to refuse to have an arranged marriage and chose to marry a commoner as well?

You should do a post on English titles. I find it all fascinating, and a bit confusing.

    4. Oh, I don't know if that's the reason they were given Cambridge, actually.

It is a really rocky path. The fact she's a commoner should mean she can never be Queen - that's reserved for women who are already princesses in their own right. It's even contentious that she should be Princess of Wales when the time comes, even though there have been many down the ages not just Diana. But technically, it's set in stone what she will and won't be called - it's just waiting for the right Royal etiquette expert to explain it in words of one syllable!

    5. I guess we shall see when the time comes!

Thanks for taking the time to keep me straight and informed. :)

  12. What ever her title will be...they are good people and thank God they have them! www.sandysanderellasmusings.blogspot.com

  13. Princess Grace was one of the most beautiful women of her era. Too bad she had to leave the world so soon. And gotta love Jasmine, even if she is only a cartoon. Okay, that sounded kind of weird, I know.

  14. I'm patting myself on the back. I must have a fascination for princesses because I knew them all.

  15. All of them. Don't throw off my groove. Dragon rocks!

  16. There should be a test for princesses. Maybe an assault course? Or a Hunger Games? Make them earn it.

  17. I knew all but the most recent one. That's rather sad, huh?

    ReplyDelete
  18. I named every one. I don't know if I should be proud knowing all the princesses' names or not. I was never a princess type of girl.

  19. I think this has been the first quiz I knew. What does that say about me?

Every time I see pictures of Princess Leia I think of the episode of Friends where Rachel fulfilled Ross's fantasy and dressed up like Princess Leia. I'll never see those side hair buns the same!

  20. Aha, I got all the answers. Then again, Fidelina, the beautiful fairy princess from my magical garden, did help me with number 5.

    I'm going now.
