IWSG Tiny Little Update
Since our last check-in, big things in one tiny package have happened in my world. Meet my newest granddaughter, sweet Sylvia Coraline joined the family. Her big sister is happy to have a real-life baby doll of her own.
On the writing front, I have been adding words to stories. Hopefully, I'll have a new book to share with the world some day. I've been such a slacker that it's like starting over. I keep planning to do better. I need to write more, blog more, and send out my newsletter more often. Maybe I'll start this month. Midyear is a as good a time as any to have resolutions.
Thank you to this month's awesome co-hosts!
PJ Colando, Pat Garcia, Kim Lajevardi, Melisa Maygrove, and Jean Davis, you guys rock!
What were some books that impacted you as a child or young adult?

What a wonderful gift to the world. Sweet little babies. They are both adorable! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteChildren are the best gift!
DeleteCongratulations on your new granddaughter!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Remember when my life was all about the boys? Now, I get to chatter on and on about my girls!!!
DeleteWhat a beautiful photograph!
ReplyDeleteI love that photo too. Violet was so excited and it just shows in her little face.
DeleteOh Elizabeth, that's amazing! Huge congrats. We're a couple years behind you as my oldest is seriously looking at parenthood now but I'm okay not to take the leap yet. Still have littles in the house...though they're not as little as they used to be.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Crystal!! So glad to see you back in the creative arena. When the grands start coming, you'll love it. They don't call it grand for nothing.
DeleteI enjoyed reading those three books, too. Your grandbabies are so very cute!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I've been making time for reading and started with Myrtle. I'm very much enjoying the sassy old sleuth!
DeleteDarling photo!
ReplyDeleteThe 14 books in the Wizard Oz series were my favorites, still are!
I have never read those. I need to make a reading list.
DeleteAdorable! Congrats!!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteCongrats on your sweet grandkids. I hope I'll be a grandma one of these days.
ReplyDeleteThey're well worth the wait!
DeleteCongratulations! That is one adorable picture of your granddaughters.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteAw, congratulations! You do not look old enough to be Grandma yet though.
ReplyDeleteMy profile picture needs an update, for sure. But thank you!!
DeleteCongratulations! What a great photo, and I love the new little one's name!
ReplyDeleteAnonymously Esther O'Neill, East of the Sun. Congratulations. Can see how overjoyed your elder granddaughter is.
ReplyDeleteI honestly don't think there was an ounce of jealousy so far. Violet is so enamored with babies, having a real baby in her house has been like Christmas for her!
DeleteAll great book choices. Growing up we had a series of hardcover editions for kids. Heidi and Black Beauty are among them. I still have the books, behind a glass case in my living room. Congratulations on your beautiful new granddaughter!
ReplyDeleteI believe I still have my copy of Heidi and Little Women, but I never had a copy of Black Beauty. I got it from the library. I should get a copy.
DeleteCongrats on the new arrival! I'm sure you'll love reading your childhood faves to those little ones.
ReplyDeleteI will! Violet is already a reader. Okay, so she likes to open books and tell her rendition of what is happening, but that's the start of reading and story telling!
DeleteA wonderful change in your life.

Yes! Thanks for the link :)
DeleteCongratulations on your newest granddaughter! Sisters are the best. All the books you mentioned were my favorites too, although I didn't read Heidi till I was an adult.
ReplyDeleteI didn't read Anne of Green Gables until I was an adult and it became a favorite too. I have two sisters and couldn't imagine growing up without my sisters. It's definitely a special bond.
DeleteCongratulations, Elizabeth. What a beautiful baby.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Thank you, Janie!!
DeleteThanks for sharing the precious ones in the picture - best gifts ever! You'll have so much fun reading to them and, perhaps, gifting them one of your favorite books as they grow up!
ReplyDeleteI've not really thought about that, but that will be special. Maybe one day they will read them. I hope they like them. That's a new level of pressure to write decent stories!!
DeleteHow lovely and beautiful. Grandchildren are a special blessing.
ReplyDeleteAww, how cute. Congrats on the new grandbaby!
ReplyDeleteAwww---welcome to the world, baby doll! What an adorable photo. I became a great grandmother in April.!! Have fun with kiddies while you can. They grow up too fast. I am having a difficult time thinking of my daughter as a grandma!
ReplyDeleteWhat a precious photo! And I love her name - so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI've been slacking too and for quite a long time. Lately I've been managing about 1 editing session per week, which is just sad.
Congratulations on the newest addition. Heidi was one of my favourites - I had the tiniest, most delicate edition... but I lost it somewhere. I'm hoping it'll turn up in a box in the back of the loft or a cupboard or my mum's loft, at some point.
ReplyDeletestop it! just stop it! too cute!
