October 2 question - Ghost stories fit right in during this month. What's your favorite classic ghostly tale? Tell us about it and why it sends chills up your spine.
Anything that has to do with demons. I bought Graveyard by Ed and Lorraine Warren, the ghost/demon hunters of the Conjuring movie fame. I've been too afraid to crack the spine on the book. A friend of mine read the entire series and told me it was so scary she couldn't sleep well for months. The reason I'm so freaked out by these kind of stories is that I believe in angels and if angels are real, then so are demons. Vampires, werewolves, zombies...meh. I can watch those and still grab my laundry from the basement after dark.

They encountered real demons and ghosts, so I imagine the book is quite creepy.
ReplyDeleteThat group consists of angels. And that area needs them right now.
Definitely heroes!
ReplyDeleteThose Conjuring movies freak me out. Not sure I could handle a book/series, but I might try.... :o
Yikes! That book must be scary. And yes, the areas affected by Helene were devastated and will take a long time to rebuild.
ReplyDeleteFlood damage is awful, but combined with terrifying winds and the damage they do, the results are far, far worse.
ReplyDeleteIt's going to take YEARS to rebuild that area. I hope that group makes a difference. Their help is needed.
ReplyDeleteHelene was devastating and catastrophic. Praying for relief and an abundance of help! Congrats to Melissa's New Release!
ReplyDeleteI struggle with ghost stories, too, but I enjoy Ghostbusters because it's fun and silly. Congrats to Melissa!
ReplyDeleteWe have a lot of horror to get through without adding stories about demons or ghosts! I feel such empathy for those in the path of that hurricane.

I feel so much for those the storm hit. My sister lived in the path of Katrina and their area was never the same after. Good luck with your new release.
ReplyDeleteI was scared for my friends during the hurricane. One lost their house, but everyone I know is safe, thank goodness.
ReplyDeleteThat was a scary storm. Our house is fine, but I was glad to evacuate to see my mom until the utilities can be restored (at least somewhat).
ReplyDeleteSo many scary stories exist beyond the realm of fantasy, and find their way into everyday life. Thank goodness for the heroes and angels doing their best to counter the damage and bring hope into people's lives.
ReplyDeleteThe aftermath of the hurricane is a true horror. My heart breaks for the people affected.
ReplyDeleteI also find demon horror terrifying. The Exorcist is one of the scariest books/movies I've ever read/watched. I also loved The Omen (book and movie).
Disasters like that certainly make one grateful that any current challenges are what they are. A Youtuber my hubby watches lived down there and had a tree fall on his house!
