I'm back, crawling out of my edit cave. Edits and final chapters always turn me into a peculiar creature. I can write chapters 1-40 and keep my real life together (for the most part!). I can set writing goals and shut the computer down when I hit them. But when I hit those "homestretches" I'd happily forgo meals to finish. I suppose that's good for the books, but not so much for the people who live with me.
Today, for lunch, my husband took crackers and a can of tuna to work. I brought a peanut butter sandwich made from banana bread. Did you guess we're out of bread and I didn't want to waste time last night shopping because I was so close to The End that nothing else mattered?
If you said yes, then you guessed right.
So, for my efforts here is the latest coming soons...

Also, on a much more serious note, blogger friend and fellow writer R. Mac Wheeler was in a motorcycle wreck. Hopefully, he's using his convalescing time to read and write. If you're reading this, Mac- you're in my thoughts and prayers!

Yep, PB&J is so yesterday. I started a new trend.
DeleteYour story was a pleasure to read. And it didn't lose me any editing time. I put it on my kindle and when I had free reading time, I read it. worked perfectly. I was getting worried I was going too slowly or would pleasure read and have to go back with editing eyes. LOL
My hubby takes tuna in one of those little packets like two or three times a week! I'm the same way as you, though. Right at the end with the final edits, I have to get them done no matter what. Good luck and YAY for you!

DeleteI just joined an author service that says its software lets you format quick and easy. I've tried it from scratch, but it was above my head.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't do very well in your house, don't like canned tuna and don't much like PB. However, I hope the edits are going well. Next time you have a book in the works you should make stuff for the freezer before you get stuck in then Chad, and you for that matter, will have something healthy to eat. What made you change the title by the way?
ReplyDeleteMaking meals ahead would be a much better way to do it, but I'm not even really all that good at making a menu. I used to meal prep every Sunday when I was working in social work. Then I got out of the habit.
DeleteI changed the name because there will be two more books off of this story and I wanted the titles to be similar. SO, I came up with a few new ones, posted them to my Dreamers page and let readers vote and they chose About Us, then the next story will be Shelley's and it will be About Her, and then the third will probably be Cam's dad and it will be About Him.
BTW, are you a Dreamer? If not, I need to add you, for sure!

DeleteTuna & crackers and peanut butter & banana bread both sound like excellent lunches to me. Who needs bread? If somebody else in the family wanted it, he could've gone to the store himself. Besides, you've gotta have your priorities straight, and crossing that editing finish line becomes more urgent the closer you get to it. You go, girl!
