IWSG: June

6:33 AM Elizabeth Seckman 48 Comments

OPTIONAL IWSG Day Question: Of all the genres you read and write, which is your favorite to write in and why? Anything with a happily ever after. Life already comes with enough curve balls and sadness, I want to write and read fiction that leaves me smiling.

Our book selection for June/July is:

Are You There, God? It's Me, Margaret by Judy Blume

This book was voted on by our members as a great example of Dialogue. The discussion will start July 24th and will go to the end of the month, but it will be up indefinitely, so you can hop in whenever you're able.

  3. I just finished Chapter 6 in Hoosier Dad - so good! You've got another winner on your hands :)

I remember reading "Are You There God?" when I was young. I wonder what it would be like rereading it as an adult?

    Cheers - Ellen

  7. I would love to write stories that leave people smiling instead of cowering under the bed. Sigh.

  11. Like you I like reading stories with happy endings. They don't have to be perfectly blissful and neatly tied up, but I like closure and some cause to smile or feel optimistic.
