Goal Update and a Sale!
Goals Blog Hop |
It's been a long time since I updated goals- probably because they always stay the same. Write and publish stories. And usually to declutter and clean my house.
So, how am I doing? Meh.
~My latest manuscript is done and ready for submission. Fingers crossed!
~I finished the first draft of my short story for the IWSG anthology competition. It still needs a bit of tweaking, but it's coming along.
~I've been trying to clear things out of my house, since it's easier to keep cleared spaces clean longer, but I'm beginning to feel like I'm just shoving clutter from one room to another.
~I steam cleaned my entire living room so it would smell fresh and clean. A day later, it started raining and it's rained all week, so of course the dogs are super doggy-smelling making the living room carpet smell not so fresh.
The FULL DARK anthology is on sale for $.99. All the proceeds from the sale of these stories go to the Gary Sinise Foundation that helps active military, veterans, and first responders.
Glad you're entering the IWSG Anthology Contest! Don't wait until the last minute to send it in. Please!
ReplyDeleteAh, the fresh scent of wet dog...
I just have the ending to fix. And proofreading. Might bug Jo for that...
Deletehaha that sure is the way it goes with dogs around. A dumpster works when cleaning, used those in the past. No more moving stuff after that leaves.
ReplyDeleteI have daydreams of dumpsters. The men in my house would have a coronary if I pulled one up to the house.
DeleteNice to see a Got Goals post from you again. I know what you mean about moving clutter around. When I realized we'd be moving, I decided to clean out all the clutter.
ReplyDeleteWhat I really did was pack it all in so the new room would feel like home. :-D
I can't even imagine moving. So much work.
DeletePS I'm not sure if you missed the memo, but the linky list you were part of no longer works. So if you want to make sure the other people find you, please don't forget to post your link in the comments on gotgoalsbloghop.blogspot.com. :-)
ReplyDeleteI meant to come back on Friday and do that but got busy. I'll do it now.
DeleteI felt that way at my old house- like I was just stirring stuff around when I'd clean. It's a little better here. Moving made me throw a lot of stuff away.
ReplyDeleteYea for FULL DARK! I still can't believe it's been out a year.
I need to take a moving mindset. We've lived in the same place for 25 years...we've accumulated a lot of stuff.
DeleteGreat goals post, all the best my dear C.Lee!
ReplyDeleteThanks Nas!
DeleteThe doges are obviously trying to help you. I've done poorly at writing and moving stuff out of my house. I did call to get a new recycle bin to replace the one stolen. They brought another... full of someone else's trash and were annoyed I was not amused at having to pay to empty someone else's trash. Now it's empty. Progress, I guess. lol
ReplyDeleteYou'd think they've have noticed when they transported it that it was full of trash. That's insane to make you pay for it.
DeleteYour carpet woes are the very reason why I've decided I'll just wait until the dogs pass away and just replace it. Trying to keep it clean with three energetic shibas is pretty much a no-go.
ReplyDeleteI've got my fingers crossed for you!!
I would do that, but it seems like as we lose pets, we keep replacing them. You are right, keeping things clean with pets and kids is impossible.
DeleteBest of luck on your submissions! Sending lots of good vibes your way:)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mark!
DeleteIf God wanted you to have a pristine house, he wouldn't have made you love animals and kids. What you have is a HOME, and that's a lot better than a sanitized house any ol' day.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your submissions!
I totally agree with you-- until company shows up and I start wishing I had a house instead of a home. LOL
DeleteThank you for the luck!
I can so relate to that feeling of moving clutter from place to place.
ReplyDeleteI suppose it is good exercise.
DeleteSounds like you're a rockstar. We already knew this. The dogs - not so much.
ReplyDeleteSad thing is, some days I like the dogs better than most humans- even when they smell. LOL
Deletede-cluttering - is never, ever done! Well, maybe for a few minutes, but that's about it. :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the finished product, and the anthology piece. Great job!
I keep telling myself to just stop shopping-- that would be a good start.
DeleteAwesome that your story is out, and you're almost done with your submission to the anthology. Me too! I'm afraid, but oh well. As soon as I hear back from beta readers, um, you, LOL, I'll send it in and hold my breath. Well, cross my fingers anyway. One thing I love about our tiny rental is cleaning is such a breeze!!!
