Fire Drawn Gifts
Sadly, Louis died a few weeks ago. He was boy #3, Carter's Christmas present a few years ago. I can't say I was Louis favorite person. All I'd have to do was say hi to him and he'd hiss and ball up, spines out. But he loved Carter. For Carter, he was all snuggles and sweetness.
It's hard to lose a pet and I felt so bad for Carter. I offered him everything from a kitten to a chinchilla, but he didn't want anything.
Then I remembered Carrie Butler makes these gorgeous pyro-drawings of pets, so I ordered one for Carter. When the package arrived, I got this text from a very happy young man.
Here's a closer picture of the drawing. Impressive, right?

Carrie did an excellent job! Great way to keep the memory of Louis.
ReplyDeleteIt was. The picture doesn't do it justice. There is so much detail in this picture; it's simply amazing.
DeleteWhat a special way to remember Louis! Hope your son is doing as okay as can be expected with everything.....
ReplyDeleteHe's doing all right. Fortunately, we have a house full of pets to love while he decides whether or not he wants another hedgehog. I suggested a chinchilla since they live longer. These tiny pets with the short life spans are heart breakers. Or maybe he should get a turtle...
Deleteawwwwww
ReplyDeleteYou have some lovely dogs that would look awesome in a wood carving.
DeleteCarter might change his mind about wanting another critter.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Maybe the first time he peruses a pet store.
DeleteShe did an excellent job indeed. Never easy losing a pet.
ReplyDeleteNo, it's not. They are special creatures. It's impossible not to miss them.
DeletePoor Louis! But he look so adorable and cuddly (even if he wasn't.) Carrie did an excellent job.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing my release and giveaway!
He was cuddly with Carter. Not with me. With me, he was all spines.
DeleteMy pleasure sharing your book. Best of luck with it!
Oh, he was a cutie. I'm very sorry.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Robyn.
DeleteAwww, sorry for your son's loss, but that is an amazing gift to memorialize the furry, prickly friend.
ReplyDeleteIt is the perfect memorial.
DeleteI like Fey's tips, good advice for any author:)
ReplyDeleteChrys is one savvy lady!
DeleteYour posts always make me feel like I am sitting on the floor next to you listening as you tell your story. Thank you. I am sorry for the loss. What a lovely memory. And congratulations to Chrys :)
