Fire Drawn Gifts

Sadly, Louis died a few weeks ago. He was boy #3, Carter's Christmas present a few years ago. I can't say I was Louis favorite person. All I'd have to do was say hi to him and he'd hiss and ball up, spines out. But he loved Carter. For Carter, he was all snuggles and sweetness.

It's hard to lose a pet and I felt so bad for Carter. I offered him everything from a kitten to a chinchilla, but he didn't want anything.
Then I remembered Carrie Butler makes these gorgeous pyro-drawings of pets, so I ordered one for Carter. When the package arrived, I got this text from a very happy young man.

Here's a closer picture of the drawing. Impressive, right?

Celebrate the Small ThingsTo be part of this blog hop, all you have to do is visit the Celebrate page on Lexa's Blog for the rules, and then post every Friday about something you're grateful  for that week.  It can be about writing or family or school or general life.  This is the funnest and easiest blog hop ever! (Originated by VikLit)

My niece flew in from Texas to South Carolina, so we hopped in the family roadster and headed south. We had a great time. I got to see my sister, niece (and niece in-law), nephews, and a couple of very adorable great-nephews. Old man Grizzly got to tag along for the trip. He was so excited. He's a travelling dog!

    1. He's doing all right. Fortunately, we have a house full of pets to love while he decides whether or not he wants another hedgehog. I suggested a chinchilla since they live longer. These tiny pets with the short life spans are heart breakers. Or maybe he should get a turtle...

    1. He was cuddly with Carter. Not with me. With me, he was all spines.

My pleasure sharing your book. Best of luck with it!
