Guest Post by Kristin Smith—Reading Spaces
Do you have a favorite place you like to read? Those of you who know me know that I LOVE books, but I also love design. And if I were going to design a house, I'd want it to have a fun, cozy reading nook with fluffy pillows and thick cushions. I'd be happy with something like this:
Or this:
This one is great for kids:
This one reminds me of Harry Potter (especially that tiny door under the stairs!):
And here's my personal favorite. Isn't it cool?
What about you? Which one is your favorite? Where do you like to curl up with a good book?
Author Bio:Kristin Smith writes young adult contemporary and science fiction novels. When she’s not writing, you can find her dreaming about the beach, beating her boys at Just Dance, or belting out karaoke (from the comfort of her own home). Kristin currently resides in the middle-of-nowhere North Carolina with her husband and five incredibly loud but extremely cute boys. To read more about her obsession with YA novels or her addiction to chocolate, you can visit her at kristinsmithbooks.com.
Great post Elizabeth. Wonderful books and authors and awesome pictures.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week-end.
Yvonne.
Thank you! Hope you have a wonderful weekend as well! :)
DeleteCongrats, Kristin.
ReplyDeleteThat first one would be a great nook. I like the kids one too, that would be fun for a kiddo to have.
Thank you, Pat! I know, I love the one for kids. I think I'd like to crawl up in there too! Lol.
DeleteCongratulations on the book Kristin. As for reading nooks, a comfy lounger chair is all I need. Those reading nooks do look comfy though.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jo! A comfy lounge chair sounds like a great place to read too! :)
DeleteHi Elizabeth! Thank you SO much for sharing the news of Catalyst on your blog today. I really appreciate it! Hugs! <3
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Kristin! Hi Elizabeth!
ReplyDeleteI have a cupboard under the stairs. It houses the vacuum cleaner and brooms... I don't need them, so I?
Thank you, Annalisa! Nope, you don't need them! Get rid of them and create your own reading space! Lol. :)
DeleteOoh, I love all of those. I think I like the second one best, though! I just basically read wherever I am. I don't really have a special nook for it. Congrats to Kristin!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Kristin!
ReplyDeleteHi Elizabeth!
I love, love, love all these reading spaces!
Congrats, Kristin. Wishing you all the luck with your book.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing Kristin's work popping up all over the blog-o-sphere:)
ReplyDeleteI love the first reading nook option so much. However not a big fan of wood paneling or slanted windows. The potter like one appealed to me more than expected. Long as no one locks me on. Also congrats to Kristen on her book. Those promo images were nice as well.
ReplyDeleteIt’s nice to see this post here. I recently interviewed this wonderful author. The book sounds amazing.
ReplyDeleteI love Kristin's cover!!! Good Luck, Kristin!.
ReplyDeleteAnd those reading spaces, I could live with!!!
Under the stairs. I definitely want to do the under the stairs one...except then I would lose my storage space. Hm. Kristin, FUN post. Love the ideas!
ReplyDeleteElizabeth! *waves* Cheese for you, woman!
I have lots of plans for a reading nook. Someday.
ReplyDeleteGood luck, Kristin!
I think I'd go for a steampunk themed reading nook! I think anywhere with a nice cushioned seat would be great though. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the elegance of the first reading nook. I usually end up reading at my kitchen table during breakfast and lunch. The good part is the seats are cushioned and the numerous birds and squirrels eating outside on the deck provide some extra entertainment.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the book Kristin.
ReplyDeleteLove those pictures. They made my reader heart happy. Congrats on the book, Kristin.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shiny book cover--congrats, Kristin! And my favorite book nook was the second one . . . we can dream . . . maybe I'll add that to my 5 year plan :-)
ReplyDeleteLove those reading spaces! Congrats, Kristen!
