Sandi Morgan Denkers is one of those gals.

She just published her first book, Waiting in Deep, and she has some serious artistic talent.

A South Carolina native, she returned to Spartanburg in 1985 after leaving the Air Force. She is a graphic artist by trade, she is also a fine artist, a lover of words and a lover of all things southern.

Following his instructions, her life is altered with such magnitude, even the town she once hated, reaps the benefits of her obedience.

Through years of journaling, her endearing relationship with 10-year-old Rebecca, and exasperating relationship with Dovie, her hilarious neighbor, Lottie exchanges her grave clothes for more than she is capable of imagining. Waiting in Deep drops you in the center of southern culture during the 1970s; four unforgettable lives keep you there long after the last page is read.

    Sandi certainly is a talented lady. I particularly love the snow painting, and it's such a striking book cover for her novel :-)

    She's definitely very talented. That girl in the rain one is awesome, and that book cover is amazing. They say that most of the time, the cover sells the book, and if that doesn't help sell her book, I don't know what will!

      Thank you! The girl in the rain was originally done by Andre Kohn. I painted this one as a study of his work. He's amazing!
