It's challenge day eighteen! Can I manage to post twenty-six times in April? Can YOU answer the questions Iripped gathered from my handy dandy, old-school, flip through paper pages encyclopedia?
Get them all (or a few) right and you could win the boobie prize!
R is for:
Rome: The Eternal City
1. The Apolostolic Palace is the home of this chapel where Michelangelo created magic on 12,000 feet of ceiling.
2. Also known as the Flavian Amphitheater, this huge structure was the official site of sparring gladiators; or when flooded, the place to hold a mock sea battle.
3. The Ides of March is the notorious reminder of this ruler's assassination.
4. According to legend, if you throw a coin in this fountain, you will return to Rome.
5. Whether true or not, it's said that this fascist made the trains run on time.
Bonus: Some say this emperor, who supposedly fiddled while Rome burned, was the Anti-Christ who will return one day and bring Apocalyptic destruction and persecution with him.
Chapel; 2. The Colosseum; 3. Julius Caesar; 4. Trevi Fountain; 5. Benito Musolini; Bonus: Nero)

Chapel; 2. The Colosseum; 3. Julius Caesar; 4. Trevi Fountain; 5. Benito Musolini; Bonus: Nero)
Ha! All but that Nero fella! LMAO.
ReplyDeleteSeriously though, I loved these ones (Italian by recipe book, that's me).
I have been loving your A to Z challenge, what a brilliant theme.
Italian by recipe book- ha! Aren't we both funny girls?
DeleteI got three right.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know Nero fiddled.
I'm not sure if he really did or if that's just rumor. But it makes for a better story!
DeleteI got #3. For #2 and bonus I had an idea of who and what they were but couldn't remember the names. *Sigh*
ReplyDeleteI hate it when that happens. I find sometimes, I can't even remember the names of my kids!
DeleteI got four, though I should have known the Trevi fountain. I just couldn't think of it.
ReplyDeleteHappens to me all the time!
DeleteGot four today.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to miss your theme when the Challenge is over!
I think I'll do it again next year. Make it an annual event!
DeleteGot four, plus the bonus. Also, Nero Caesar, written in Hebrew letters, adds up to 666.
ReplyDeleteThat is super creepy!!
DeleteDuh- I should have gotten more than two of these right. Must come back after I drink more coffee and wake up this morning :)
ReplyDeleteIt's always the coffee's fault. :)
DeleteFive!! I'm so happy today.
ReplyDeleteYay!!! I aim to keep the dragon happy!
DeleteToday, I got three and the bonus...now...how much is the bonus worth? :)
ReplyDeletea hundred...I'm all about magic wins!
DeleteAhhhhh need more coffee. Only 3.
ReplyDeleteConnie
A to Z-ing to the end
Peanut Butter and Whine
Three isn't bad!
DeleteLove your blog title!
Got 'em today! Musolini is probably the only Italian leader I could name. I'm so not current on my international politics.
ReplyDeleteI'm not up to date either. Good job for today!
DeleteI only got three right. #1, #3, and the bonus.
ReplyDeleteBut the bonus is like worth tons, so consider it a win.
DeleteI knew Nero was the fiddler but I didn't know he was also rumored to be the anti-Christ! LOL, fun bit of trivia.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that either. I knew one of the emperors was said to be the anti-Christ, but never knew which one.
