Partners in Grime: Really Real Housewives

I'm so excited to welcome my long-time writer pal, Tara Tyler! She has a new book out, which I am sure is amazing....the first two in the series are.

Welcome, Tara!!

Elizabeth and I have been great friends for several years now. We started out as blog friends who supported each other through A to Z and IWSG, blogging back and forth when blogging was big (-ger) Then we ventured down to Atlanta along with Ashley Chappell-Peeples for our first big book event and got to meet IRL! (I'm so cool with all my acronyms! not)

After talking about our alter-egos as exhausted housewives, Liz came up with the idea for us to create an advice and sharing blog for other women just like us. I was happy to join in!

It went well for a while, with many happy housewives helping us spread tidbits, stories, and fun facts. But as with many fun adventures, real life and its onslaught of events stole our time and we were forced to take a break.

Now, we are hoping to start it back up again in January, but to a more manageable level. So if you're a Really Real Housewife (anyone who takes care of a household!) with a story or advice or just some fun stuff to share, give us a shout. We're starting to fill our calendar for 2018 and would love to have you!

Thanks, sweet Elizabeth, for having me over. I'm excited to jump start RRHA with you in a brand new year!

Cooper and Geri are finally in a good place, but their bliss is short-lived when Cooper's rebellious nephew Jimmy moves in with them for a summer internship. He hits the town hard and thinks he's found the girl of his dreams in an fiery, exotic beauty. Against all words of warning, he pursues her and ends up getting kidnapped by her powerful Drug Lord father. Geri tracks him down, but gets herself kidnapped as well.

Now it's up to Cooper to use all his resources to save them, including the hot homicide detective Geri secretly despises, and the latest sketchy gadgets his genius friend Hasan offers him to field-test. Sure, why not? Cooper will do anything to get his family back.

Time for my small things check-in. Thanks to our hosts LexaL  .G, and Tonja Drecker for this weekly reminder to look for the good things in life!

I got a lot checked off my Christmas to-do list this week. Decorations are up, inside and out. I even got a few of the presents wrapped. I'm way ahead of where I was last year.

My husband's car broke down, but he patched it up with some tie straps, bungee cords, and duct tape. I swear, that car is as old as our oldest child. I think he takes pride in the challenge. Every time I tell him the old girl is toast, he proves he can resuscitate her.

My little dog leaped down the steps and hurt his leg last week. Fortunately, he's feeling better and is able to jump up on the couch again. He's still a moron about the steps. He has evidently decided the best way down is to jump. My guess is his vision is failing now that he's getting older. Needless to say, he gets carried down the steps now.

  1. Glad you're starting up the site again and with a schedule you can follow.
Duct tape is the answer for everything, isn't it?
Now, back to wrapping presents, young lady!

  2. A manageable schedule is key indeed. Congrats on the new release, Tara. A challenge to keep the car going, one I'd fail. I jumped down stairs and hurt my leg ages ago too, thankfully I learned haha

  3. Okay, so you are WAY ahead of me this Christmas. I need to get off the internet and start Christmas or there will be none in my home.

So for the really real housewives, what exactly are you looking for? Maybe I can help. Let me know how it works over at my blog: http://victoriamarielees.blogspot.com/

Bravo, Tara, on your new release! I've visited your blog as well. Enjoy your holiday, Elizabeth!

  4. Lovely to visit Elizabeth and hear from you all - and yes, Alex duck tape is the answer to most questions! Pat - sorry you've been treated like a dog (ha ha)
And Victoria - we'll be in touch!

Thanks again Liz for having me - now to carve some time for RRHA!!

  5. Here in the South, duct tape is only the answer to some problems. The rule of thumb is if it moves and it isn't supposed to, use duct tape; if it doesn't move and it's supposed to, use WD-40.

Congrats on the new book release, Tara!

  6. Another spoilt dog!!! Just as well he isn't too big. You'd have trouble carrying a GSD.

Delighted you are starting up Really Real Housewives again.

By the way, our car goes back to '98. Not a piece of duct tape anywhere.

How's the snow in your neck of the woods Liz?

Elizabeth- Glad to hear that site is going to go back up. As to car repairs: zip ties and wire are my hubs' remedy.

  11. Congrats on the new release, Tara! I don't think I have any advice for housewives, since I struggle with upkeep myself. Doh!
