Our very most favorite blog buddy, Alex Cavanaugh!!
Awesome, right?
He sent mini-Alex over to bring us the festive down-low on the holidays in the Cavanaugh house.

Thanks, Elizabeth! Yeah, Mini-Alex and the clones can run circles around Santa's elves...
ReplyDeleteI'm flattered to have you stop by!
DeleteI bet those ninjas even beat the elves on their stealth.
Mmm... cookies. Love Alex's Christmas Eve tradition. :) Have a lovely week.
ReplyDeleteI think that's an idea of a winner also!
DeleteChristmas Eve sounds perfect indeed at your sea.
ReplyDeleteYes, it does!
DeleteLove the calmness of your Christmas...and the cookies!
ReplyDeleteA calm Christmas...now, that's a great tradition.
DeleteAlex is the sweetest husband - I love his favourite Christmas memory :-)
ReplyDeleteWasn't that sweet?
DeleteThat Mini-Alex is a real go getter. Smart man Alex, scoring those points with the wife. Happy Holidays to you, Mini-Alex and of course Liz.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sheena-kay!! I hope your holidays are merry and bright :)

ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to Mini and Maxi Alex!
ReplyDeleteLOL
DeleteMerry Christmas to Mini and Maxi Alex!
ReplyDeleteWe always watch A Christmas Story on Christmas day and I play Trans Siberian Orchestra Christmas music continuously through the season.
ReplyDeleteMy dad was an orchestra Christmas sort of guy too. He'd get so mad when I'd make him listen to my pop Christmas classics.
DeleteA Christmas Story in my favorite, too.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to all.
That is one great movie!!
DeleteLee, that's funny!
ReplyDeleteSusan and Gail, you have excellent tastes!
Good one, Maxi Alex. I gather you don't have set meals particularly at Christmas. Just as well we do otherwise I would be gaining back everything I lost. Not seen any Christmas movies yet but just ordered The Santa Clause from the library, I always enjoy that one plus I have a VHS copy of The Miracle on 34th Street. Have to remember how to play it though. Merry Christmas Alex, see you around. You too Liz.
ReplyDeleteI like It's a Wonderful Life too, but no one in my family does.
DeleteYou actually have a VHS player that works?
DeleteYes I do Alex and I did remember how to use the VHs player
DeleteSuper fun way to get to know everyone's holiday favs! I love the idea of dinner snacks smorgasbord. We usually do that for new years eve but I might just add it to Christmas eve, too.
ReplyDeleteWe do that for New Year's Eve too...then plan a diet for the first if the new year.
DeleteI look forward to seeing some Christmas movies over my break. I need to try the green cookies. Happy Holidays!
ReplyDeleteThanks Medeia!! I am definitely trying the green cookies. I hope your holidays are either relaxing or productive...whichever suits you best.
DeleteNow I want cookies!
ReplyDeleteGreat post! I'm surprised your favorite movie isn't Die Hard!
Heather
That is my husband's favorite Christmas movie...that and Reindeer Games.
DeleteNot for Christmas, although yippee ki yay is a favorite expression.
DeleteI want to take my mom to a Trans Siberian Orchestra concert in Philly, but she ALWAYS is in a concert on the same weekend!
ReplyDeleteThat would be wonderful to see. I would like to see the Nutcracker too. I've never done that.
DeleteWhat a fun post! I love A Christmas Story too and watch it every year at least a few times. I haven't started eating Christmas cookies yet- but I will be having some soon. :)
ReplyDelete~Jess
I need to start the Christmas baking, but I'll wait until all my boys are home so I'm not eating them all myself.
DeleteI suspected he was involved in some kind of graphic arts or web design. Happy Christmas, Alex.
ReplyDeleteI know. What was the first clue? The awesome website?
DeleteElizabeth, thank you so much for the gift. I want to cry. Didn't expect it.
ReplyDeleteIt was the least I could do.
DeleteTrans Siberian Orchestra is awesome. Alex, have you heard of August Burns Red? They have a Christmas album of all of our favorite Christmas songs but they give it a cool rock twist.
ReplyDeleteI love Christmas tree cookies. :)
Merry Christmas, Alex and Elizabeth!
I like my Christmas songs with a rock twist. That used to drive my dad nuts.
DeleteI'll check it out, Chrys!

ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you as well, Tyrean!!
DeleteI like mini-Alex's dragon :) I enjoy listening to Trans Siberian Orchestra and those cookies sound good. This Christmas with friends is a great idea, Elizabeth! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI think I should make it a yearly special. It's fun!
DeleteThat's his best friend, Father Dragon Al.
DeleteChristmas Eve is the same at our house, and we open a few presents too!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas, everyone!
Mine open the gifts from their dad- just a little something to warm them up.
DeleteI knew the ninja could slay dragons!! Happy to see Alex featured. :)
ReplyDeleteHe'd never slay that dragon...that's Father Dragon, the lovable-huggable fire-breather.
DeleteThose Ninjas look hilarious. I love cookies btw just don't tell the cookie monster. Merry christmas!
ReplyDeleteYou're secret is safe with me. :)
DeleteThose cookies sound delicious! My favorite Christmas cookies are chocolate chip with red and green M&Ms. Hope you all have a Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI made those this year! They are much more festive than regular chips.
