1. I got my teeth cleaned. No cavities! Or at my age? I'm happy none broke. I was eating popcorn at a football game this fall, and my tooth broke. No more grinding kernels. Can't say mom never warned me.
2. We had another blast of snow. Sure, everyone is getting tired of it, but it's still beautiful and there's a special glee in having the school call and cancel.
3. It's Cole's birthday! Oh, my goodness. Baby #2 is nineteen years old!
He went from a ham who was willing to try Alfalfa hair....
To serious guy.
Not really, this is the same ham all grown up practice his "contemplative" face.

Have you read Medeia's new book?
Excellent story. I was expecting the usual story of teen survival, which was good. But then, the story took a twist and I was totally hooked. I was close to the end, but the family wanted dinner, so I had to put the my Kindle on auto read, set it in the kitchen window, and listened to the Kindle version of Siri get me to the end.
I had ideas about what the 52 Likes was all about, but I wasn't even in the same ball park.
Check out Medeia's books Here!
I Love popcorn but have to leave it alone. No snow, but we have black ice. That's one contemplative ham!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend, (smile).
Black ice is so bad! Dangerous stuff. Be safe!
DeleteI'm always scared of breaking my teeth since both of my front teeth have small chips in them. They're not that noticeable but it still bugs me. Happy birthday to Cole! I like the "contemplative" face, lol.
ReplyDeleteJust stay away from kernel crunching.
DeleteHappy birthday to Cole!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about no broken teeth. Crowns suck.
And they're expensive!
DeleteNever knew popcorn could break your teeth, glad i don't eat that. Hope he has a happy birthday!
ReplyDeleteOnly if you like to grind the unpopped kernels.
DeleteHa ha ha...my mom (and all my family) warns me about crunching ice. Another friend gives me all the medical voodoo: "You might need more iron! Ice crunching is a sign!"
ReplyDeleteI just like ice. It's a much better addiction that some I've seen.
I like to crunch ice too, but I am consistently low on iron too, so hmmm. Never knew that!
DeleteYour ginger-haired boy is all grown up! Congrats on no cavities. Breaking teeth is horrible. I had no idea that the older you get, the more you're just eating normal stuff and a freaking tooth breaks! What's up with that? Happy Birthday Cole!!
ReplyDeleteThe unfairness of it all, Lexa! It's not fair. Next thing I know, I'll be worrying about breaking bones.
DeleteHappy Birthday to Cole!
ReplyDeleteI probably shouldn't be admitting this...but I haven't been to the dentist in a long, long time.
Uh oh...I'd say you better go, but if you don't have insurance, it's expensive.
DeleteCongrats about the dentist! I'm convinced they're all secretly addicted to pain :(
ReplyDeleteLOL. My dentist is a pretty nice guy. I don't think he likes pain at all.
DeleteNo ice, lots of snow. Looks like a nice youngster. Amazing how they are suddenly adults isn't it? Yuk, teeth, dentistry, hate it all.
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing how fast he grew up. Everyone warned me, but I didn't believe it until it happened.
DeleteI suffered through years of braces, head gear, rubber bands, extractions and - through it all - popcorn was the devil. But it's such a good snack.
ReplyDeleteCole has great hair. Is his dad a red head?
Happy weekend, my friend.
I was fortunate enough to get to skip braces!
DeleteNope, his dad has black hair. We do have red heads in our families, so no DNA required ;)
I used to love going to the dentist - less so now I'm older. And they stopped giving me stickers!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to baby #2 :-)
That reminds me, I didn't get my "atta girl" toothbrush!
DeleteOuch about the tooth. But popcorn is so good. Happy Birthday Cole!
ReplyDeleteIt's all fixed. Popcorn and I are back to being buddies. I just avoid the kernels now.
DeleteHappy birthday to Cole.
ReplyDeleteThank you for featuring my book. :)
I'm more careful with my teeth. I never thought I would have to be, but the older I get the more fragile they seem to be.
My pleasure!
DeleteYes, it's best to take care of them now.
I didn't have cavities most of my life and now every time I go, I have at least one. I think I'm eating too much chocolate!
ReplyDeleteI had so many cavities when I was young, my molars are all metal. I have a bionic mouth!
DeleteNINETEEN?? How does the time do that? And yes, I've broken teeth before--sigh.
ReplyDeleteI swear, I never should have let him out of the car seat!
DeleteNow I'm terrified of popcorn. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteIf it's any consolation, I once dated a girl who tried to be sweet and cook me clam pasta. She then inadvertently left a clam shell still inside. Took a huge bite, and cracked my tooth wide open.
LOL. Actually, that does make me feel better. Makes it less an age problem and more a voracious eater problem!
DeleteI cringed when you said your tooth broke. That sounds horrifying :P
ReplyDeleteIt didn't hurt so much, but it was really sharp and annoying.
DeleteLove the photos of your son, and happy birthday to him! I remember when my son was 19... nine years ago! Arg. SO sorry about the cracked tooth. What a pain, and so expensive to fix! You've got my curiosity antenna roaming over 52 Likes...!
ReplyDeleteIt's all fixed now. It didn't cost me much. I have a good dentist :)
DeleteHappy Birthday to Spawn #2!! And glad you still have all your teeth ;-) Oooh, I really need to read 52 Likes!!
