It's challenge day eight! Can I manage to post twenty-six times in April? Can YOU answer the questions Iripped gathered from my handy dandy, old-school, flip through paper pages encyclopedia?
Get them all right and you could win the boobie prize!
What the H
1. What is the ancient wall that runs between the River Tyne and Solway Firth?
2. What is Bruce Banner's alter ego created by a failed gamma radiation experiment?
3. What English king left us with this legacy: divorced- beheaded- died- divorced- beheaded- survived...his six sorry wives?
4. Who was the first man to make it to the peak of Mt. Everest?
5. Who is the mother of Ishmael, the ancestor of Muhammad?
Bonus: Who performed the Twelve Labors to repent for killing his six sons? (hint- In Greek lore, he's not your average character, he is the offspring of Zeus and Alcmene)

(1. Hadrian's Wall; 2. the Hulk; 3. Henry VIII; 4. Sir Edmund Hillary...though to be fair, his Napalese guide, Tenzing Norgay, was right beside him, so he gets the credit too...Go Tenzing!; 5. Hagar; Bonus: Hercules)

I got #2, 3 and the bonus. Nice set of questions today Liz.
ReplyDeleteI'm getting better! 5 out of 6 all in. Only tripped up on Hagar - I'll always think of that name as belonging to a horrible Viking!
ReplyDeleteWay to go Nick! Oh my goodness, I forgot about that Hagar!
DeleteWow, only two of them today. Off to study.
ReplyDeleteTwo is better than none!
DeleteI'm glad you're giving credit to Tenzing Norgay, he deserves it. Fun challenge.
ReplyDeleteThanks Robin! And yes, Tenzing should be a household name too!
DeleteYay, I got the first 4 right today! I'm improving each day :-)
ReplyDeleteYay!!! I thought of you and added a bit more Brit knowledge to the questions :)
DeleteAw thank you :-)
DeleteUh, I think I already won the boobie prize...LOL.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe it's only day eight. Seems like much longer. Here's hoping we can all make it through to the end.
I totally took the easy route. Scouring the books for trivia is way easier than the excellent creations others are coming up with!
DeleteI've always been fascinated by Hillary. I've climbed a few mountains, none above the 14,000 mark though. I can't imagine making that kind of trek, or wanting to.
ReplyDeleteI'm scared of heights. Even those silly rock walls scare me :0
DeleteWhat fun facts Elizabeth! I got two right ... Lol!
ReplyDeleteI am still hanging in on the posts. I am up to O now... Still writing them!
You go dude! Believe it or not...getting mine done as I go. Oh wait...it probably shows!!
DeleteI know the Hulk and Henry the VIII. Hercules. The others, not so much :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't know all of that about Hercules. I was seeing the Disney character...my son gave me the run down on the real story.
DeleteI knew 3 of them! Yay me!
ReplyDeleteHappy H Day!! :D
I shall happy dance for you!!!
Deletethree if I would have stopped at Hulk and before pronouncing Hogan.
ReplyDeleteI say add two points...after his divorce, Hogan was pretty scary too!
DeleteBummer, only three.
ReplyDeleteAnd Al's comment is funny!
That's respectable Alex!
DeleteAnd Al always makes me smile. God bless him.
This is so fun! I love that you're doing this :)
ReplyDeleteMe too! It's sooooo much easier than writing a bunch of posts!
DeleteI was clueless on two and missed one. That's about par for the course of late. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThat leaves you answering three...that's not too bad!!
DeleteI knew #3, but that was about it. These have been fun, though. :)
ReplyDeleteAt least you knew one!
Delete3/5 isn't bad (for me)! LOL
ReplyDeleteI think it's great for anyone!
DeleteI knew a bunch of those...cool H questions ! fun:)
ReplyDeleteYay!!! Thanks Rebecca!
