Ninja Star!!
I'm joining Mark Koopman, Morgan Shamy, David Powers King, and Stephen Tremp and a host of other bloggers to pay Tribute (it's a stretch, but that's what they're calling it, so I'm sticking with it!) to Alex J. Cavanaugh...the Ninja Master.
The always working, never sleeping Mr. Cavaugh is a writer, a bloggern (founder of the Insecure Writer's Support Group), and all-around good guy (I did a Google search...there was no evidence of Alex kicking kittens, whew!)
Since alex is a busy man...let's waste no time and jump straight to the questions:
· In +/- 20 words, what does Alex look like?
· In +/- 20 words, what does Alex look like?
Hmm...my guess is...he dresses all in black and carries a katana...a special weapon armed with sharpened pencil lead instead of steel.
· In +/- 20 words, who could play Alex in a documentary? (Living or dead.)
Tom Cruise. (+10 bonus points for sucking up!)
· In +/- 20 words, who does Alex remind you of?
· In +/- 20 words, who does Alex remind you of?
Santa Claus. They both work year round in relative seclusion...all but the army of ninja staff/ elves and a dedicated Mrs.
· In +/- 100 words, (excluding the title) write flash fiction using all these prompts:
"Alex: Christmas Hero!"
· In +/- 100 words, (excluding the title) write flash fiction using all these prompts:
"Alex: Christmas Hero!"
Christmas comes whether you're ready or not. It halts for no one...not even Trindel, the North Pole's Naughty or Nice Officer. Problem is, Trindel won't leave the Cosbolt long enough to do the check list! So, Santa called the Ninja master and prevailed upon him to put the guitar down and come help. Santa knew...if the Ninja master could keep hundreds of writers out of the nut house with the IWSG...he could manage a list of a million or so wayward kids! Of course Mr. Cavanaugh said yes, the righteousness of Christmas was preserved and the bad kids got coal!
For Bonus Points:
· In +/- 40 words, leave a comment for Mrs. Cavanaugh - thanking her for sharing
Thanks to Mrs. Cavanaugh...we all know behind every great man is a great woman!
Haha... loved the Christmas take on this, Liz. You are awesome. And you totally get those 10 bonus points for Tom Cruise! LOL. ;D
ReplyDeleteThanks Morgan! Glad you like the twist...I have Christmas on the brain!!
Deleteidk...is tom cruise playing alex as he is jumping on the couch saying how much he loves mrs. cavanaugh?? that would be creepy...again! :D
ReplyDeleteOH NOOOOO!!!
DeleteCan you believe my niece fired me as casting director? I'm not allowed to pick actors without consulting her, but it was after midnight and I had to use my own limited knowledge of Hollywood to make my selection.
Totally only Tom Cruise "Mission Impossible" guy.
OH nooooo,
ReplyDeleteWait until you see who I chose to play Alex... :)
Does this mean we have good taste, Liz, or a twisted sense of humor?
(I agree, the twisted humor :)
Definitely twisted :)
DeleteBrilliant work! <3
ReplyDeleteWhy thank you!!
DeleteI'd give you the +10! Great Christmassy story.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I love brownie, um I mean bonus points!
Deletefun stuff! great story!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I bet poor Alex is a busy man today!
DeleteGreat work on the flash, people are being so creative with this blogfest it's awesome. (: And Tom Curise, hummm....seems to be a popular choice for the Ninja Captain! (:
ReplyDeleteI haven't gotten to read any other posts...yet. Got the husband home on Christmas vacation and working around him is like working with a toddler. Hehe, keep that secret, kay?
DeleteTom Cruise-- does that mean Alex jumps on couches and proclaims his love for Mrs. C? Fun post!
ReplyDeleteOh lordy...I hope NOT! The Ninja captain is steady of personality, I'm certain.
DeleteAn army of Alex minions ... sounds EXACTLY right. :-D
ReplyDeleteThere has to be an army somewhere!!
DeleteSo sweet comparing him to Santa. You'll see my post tomorrow. I compare him to someone awesome. Anyway nice flash fiction and you're like the second person to pick Tom Cruise. And sweet words for Mrs. Cavanaugh. This was a nice entry Liz.
ReplyDeleteWell, minus the red suit and the cookie addiction.
DeleteI swear I commented on this earlier. It totally disappeared!
ReplyDeleteSanta Alex. Yes! *puts finger on nose* you are totally right!
I have been trying to use my phone to read...I can read, but it won't let me post comments. Grr.
DeleteLovin' the Christmas vibe in your story :)
ReplyDeleteIt's in the air!!
DeleteI said Santa too! I'm totally a believer in that big guy, especially because Alex HAS to be one of his elves!
ReplyDeleteJinx Emily...buy me a coke!!!
DeleteThe flash piece is great!! Everyone thinks I'm Santa. I guess I better prod the clones, I mean elves, into working over time for me.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Elizabeth. I am just overwhelmed today.
You're a generous man with your time and your talent. Hope you had fun. :)
Delete"...and the bad kids got coal!" Reminds me of Charlie Brown getting rocks trick-or-treating'. :-) Nice take with the Christmas theme.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the "Santa Claus" answer! Best one yet! And so true!
ReplyDeleteAnother vote for Alex resembling Santa Claus. It's an apt comparison. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat story. I like the Santa comparison.
