I'm a Bad Girl...
I've been a bad blogger.I haven't been keeping up on any part of it...the visits, the posts, even the lovely comments.
I blame my kids.
They've kept me hopping.
Boy #1 is home from college for the Christmas break, and I'm just so giddy that all my kids are under the same roof for more than a weekend...I don't feel like working!
Boy #2 was chosen for the Block of Granite award for football, and is in the running for offensive lineman of the year. He needed a suit to wear to the ceremony, so, we had some shopping to do. Poor me, right? :)
Boy #3 had his 15th birthday. Egads, he can get his permit to drive now! Sigh.
Boy #4 caught a nasty case of bronchitis and ended up in the emergency room. He's on the mend, a little croupy cough left over, but much better than a few days ago.
And through it all, I had but one thought...THANK GOD. Thank you for these days, even the busy ones...even the ones that feel like one hassle after another because my babies are safe.
My heart is heavy for the families of Sandy Hook school. Prayers go out to them all. No words can express the grief, the disbelief, or the horror. All I can do is appreciate the blessings I have and maintain my faith that for every one demon, there is a legion of angels.
I've had my fill of bronchitis to last a lifetime. No thank you to another round. Hope you and your chill'ns feel better soon. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks David. This round of it did hit him hard. Poor guy.
DeleteSometimes life does have a way of taking over - but then it is life ;) Hope your son #4 is feeling better soon and congrats to #2!
ReplyDeleteThanks Tonja! #4 is back in school and #1 is very pleased, but keeping himself humble...for the most part ;)
DeleteJust keep loving on those boys.
ReplyDeleteAmen Alex!
DeleteI know how you feel (about Sandy school). My heart breaks for all of them. I just want to hold my children tight and never send them into public w/out me:(
ReplyDeleteI'm glad all of your boys are home for the holidays!! (I've got a new, boy adventure novel they can beta for me--if they're looking for something to read ;)
I want to see family pics :) you are some woman to handle all those rough, tough men.
Oh, and I'm glad your youngest is on the mend--I hate it when my children are sick ;( no fun at all!
Ever since they were born I have been mindful about just how fragile life is, but I have to take a deep breath, trust in God and let them have a normal life. I can't even, and I don't ever want to know, the tragedy of any parent who had to bury a child. It breaks my heart.
Delete(As for beta reading, they have done it for other friends of mine...but I warn you, they are so honest and picky...but they do read!)
It's a dark middle grade w/ lots of bible truths and twists--but there is some violence. Right now I have it labeled MG horror.
DeleteAnd I love picky!!!
Sounds perfect! Send away. :)
DeleteEnjoy your time Elizabeth. We all should love what we have so much more, you know?
ReplyDeleteYes, we should. If we learn nothing, it should be that time is the most precious thing of all.
DeleteNo worries. I hope your son gets better soon and enjoy every minute with all your boys! Have a great holiday!
ReplyDeleteThanks Elise! You guys are so understanding. :)
DeleteYou have a great holiday too!!
Glad your kids are ok. Four boys must be a handful. Yeah that tragedy was terrible. Makes us grateful for all our loved ones.
ReplyDeleteThey make for a joyous chaos! I can't imagine life without them...so yes, gratitude is high on my list.
Deleteyay for being a mom first! I have a college boy home too and yes, my mama's heart is rejoicing. Sounds like you have many good blessings to focus on. Blogging can wait. Happy holidays to you!
ReplyDeleteKnuckle bumps Julie! It is so nice. I get as excited for the holidays as when I was five...my baby will be home!!!
DeleteDon't feel guilty! #1, your kids are waaaaay more important than a blog, and #2, you're still posting waaaaay more than I have lately! lol I started out doing 1-2 a week, now I'm down to more like 1-2 a month, and I don't even have kids to blame ;-)
ReplyDeleteI don't have a day job, so I am just a little free spirit!! You work for NASA...nuff said ;)
DeleteYour boys are busy, so of course you would be. Plus, it's a busy time of year.
ReplyDeleteSee you in 2013, Elizabeth!
You too Emily! Go enjoy those babies of yours. I see you back here and I'll send the Grinch to your house.
DeleteWhen I picked my kids up at school yesterday I almost started crying watching all the sweet, innocent kids walking through the halls.
ReplyDeleteI am definitely thankful for their safety and I will pray for the families who've been affected by this horrible tragedy.
Take care, Elizabeth. No worries on the blogging front. I hope you and your boys have a great holiday. :)
Enjoy yours too Rachel. It is the most magical time of the year.
DeleteHave fun with your family this Christmas!
ReplyDeleteThank you Michael. I hope you have an awesome holiday too. :)
DeleteHow wonderful your household must be, with all those crazy kids :) You must be so proud.
ReplyDeleteAnd no need to apologize. Everything on that list is more important than us. If only just a little ;)
You guys are in my top ten of importance, that's for sure!!
DeleteI hope the ill one feels better. Have a wonderful season with your family. They sound like both a handful and pure joy.
ReplyDeleteThey keep me the busiest and happiest I have ever been. :)
DeleteSounds like things are going good for you - aside from the bronchitis of boy #4 but I'm glad to hear he's on the mend. Enjoy your time with your family and we'll see you after the holidays :)
ReplyDeleteHope your holidays are wonderful Leigh!
DeleteFamily + Together = Priceless
ReplyDeleteYou've certainly had a lot on your hands, Elizabeth! And it's almost Christmas... you're allowed to let your posts slip at this time of year. Just enjoy having your family together. Happy Holidays :D x
ReplyDeleteThanks Suzy. (I'm glad to see I haven't been the only one to slip a little...I'm in good company!)
DeleteSounds perfect, having all your babies together, even if those babies can drive!!
ReplyDeleteNo car seats either! That's a major bonus!
DeleteI'm right there with you (minus the four boys!) and am glad to be busy for reasons such as these. Thanks for stopping by the blog! You're never late to my parties!
