Game On!
I'm a day late!!! But only because I am a dork who doesn't keep real good track of calendars!
A very talented friend of mine, KYRA LENNON...who lives all the way across the pond in Merry Old England (doesn't technology rock?!) is about to launch her first novel!!!
Yay! Kyra!!! You go girl!
And I'm just bragging a little when I say...I read this in the baby draft stage...you know before the final edits and polish. And even with a tiny error here and a paid bar in Boston wedding there*...it was a wonderful read!
GAME ON is the story of Leah and Radleigh. Two very strong willed, head butting, spark igniting people who you just know need to be a couple!
Leah, the chick who is as wise as she is beautiful, thinks Radleigh is a total arse (that's an authentic British expression!) And Radleigh, the studly athlete who makes Tom Brady look like an altar boy, sees Leah as...well, a challenge.
But Leah is dead set against a relationship with the creep.
But Radleigh is committed to keeping a perfect record...all the beauties end up in his bed.
Who will win the challenge?
You can go to Kyra's blog and vote...there are prizes!...by clicking HERE!
And since I'm late to the party...and since our own football season (the American kind with helmets and such) is starting...I feel compelled to add a prize to the party!
My boys' football team is selling tee-shirts as a fund raiser, so everyone who comments will be eligible to win a free tee! You get a Blue Eagle football shirt and the team gets a sale!
It's a win-win.
Go Eagles! And Go Kyra!!!
And YOU...go buy the book...by clicking: BUY THE BOOK!!!
*In the manuscript...Kyra had a paid bar at an American wedding. I commented...every wedding I've ever been to in the good old USA...has open bars with free booze. Guess I'll have to buy the book to see if the drinks are free or costly in Boston!!!
What a wonderful post! <3 You're not late - but did you not get the guest post I sent you? LOL it's okay if not, I can post it on my own blog later! :D
ReplyDeleteI got the change in the book cover email. Might have missed the other one...I panicked in the middle of the night. Then I read your blog and thought, crap, there was a schedule! My brain could use some extra cells right now, Kyra. It really could!!
DeleteEvery wedding you go to has an open bar? Wow. My weddings suck. :) Sometimes people do the keg of beer (behind the bar with the bartender, not like a high school party) or open bar for first hour, but never the whole night.
ReplyDeleteThat would be a pretty stiff bill. Ouch. But cool for guests.
Game On is on my TBR list. Haven't bought it yet, cause I'm so slow, but I will soon.
Suzi - I'm so glad you said that about open bars! I just thought it meant British people are really mean because open bars almost never happen here!
DeleteThanks for adding Game On to your TBR list!
I guess WV is technically southern...maybe it's a southern hospitality thing. I have never been to one with a paid bar. I'm going to have to ask around! Maybe I don't get out enough...lol.
DeleteGo Eagles and Kyra! I also hosted Kyra yesterday.
ReplyDeleteThanks again, Medeia!
DeleteCongrats to Kyra! Yay!
ReplyDeleteHee hee, thanks!
DeleteI'm so excited for Kyra. Glad to see her here!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the support, Emily!
DeleteI've never been to a wedding with a free bar. But then I'm a mean Brit :-P
ReplyDeleteSee, it's not just me, is it? LOL!
DeleteI'm going to have to start asking more people! But the bars at the weddings I have attended are not like full bars you'd find at your local pub. Like my niece's wedding, it was at a hotel, her parents paid X number of dollars for X number of bottles of liquor, paid the bartenders (they had two), and when the "stock" ran out...party over.
DeleteIt did cost them a pretty penny. Probably one of the biggest expenses at the wedding, second being the catering.
I wanted to punch Radleigh in the face when I read this, but he turned it around for me :) Go Kyra!
ReplyDeleteLOL, I wanted to punch him in the face while I was writing it! :D
DeleteThere were places int he story I thought he might be punch worthy...but I kept my faith in him...but I won't add whether he let me down or not...read the book and find out!
DeleteI never wanted to punch him, but I had a few lines I could have used to put him down. Though Leah held her own!
DeleteI've not been to many weddings (here in the UK), but I've always paid for drinks when I have! Good old US of A! Heads up, I'm hosting Kyra tomorrow. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm really pleased to know that it isn't just that my family and friends are really tight-fisted, but that open bars just aren't that common here!
DeleteLOL Kyra!! I never thought that! My mother made me have a dry wedding because the price tag on the liquor was out of her price range. I'm wishing we'd have thought of a paid bar!
DeleteGo Eagles and Go Kyra!
ReplyDeleteAnd go Kelley!!! Congrats again on the book deal!
DeleteKyra rocks! What a great highlight here, Elizabeth! I hope everyone buys the book and supports her! ;)
ReplyDeleteMe too!!! I wonder how much it would cost me to ship it to England and back to get a signed copy?
DeleteI remember reading the detail about the open bar/paid bar... and I wondered how Kyra knew that (it seemed an odd thing to research)... now I know!
ReplyDeleteI never would have thought to research something like that.
DeleteNice Post, cheers to Gam On Blog Tour. I hope Leah teaches that creep a lesson.
ReplyDeleteThe lesson of love...
