Sort of Here
I'm only sort of here today. I'm here, but only to tell you I'm not here.
Me, Tara, and Ashley |
This was my week to do the Really Real Housewives posts- a blog I share with a couple of wonderful gals, Ashley Chappell-Peeples and Tara Tyler. It's a girly sort of blog for busy chicks, but we allow guys to stop by- just ask Mark Koopmans.
If you'd like to come visit, or better yet...guest post...just leave a message in the comments and we'll stalk you down and get you on the calendar.
1. I have a few ideas for the Lost and Found Blog hop. Yay! The brain is working! Are you signed up? You need to sign up...come on...blog hopping is fun. Sign up here
2. Got my short story finished for the Thing That Turned Me anthology. Yay!!! Done. Just need another quick read through.
3. I got one room of Christmas decorations down and packed up. I only have five rooms left.
4. The boys are coming home this weekend. Monday is MLK Day, so they have a long weekend.
Happy Birthday MLK. The world could use more men like you. |
There's nothing better than finishing a short story!
ReplyDeleteYep. At least for the first 24 hours...then your brain starts to remind you of all the problems you need to fix.
DeleteMaybe the boys can help with the rest of the decorations?
ReplyDeleteCool you're going to be in that anthology as well!
I make them carry the boxes to storage...though I really should start doing that myself. It would be good exercise.
DeleteSix rooms of decorations? However did you find the time to put them up in the first place? As Alex said, maybe the boys can help you take down the rest. Congrats with your story completion.
ReplyDeleteI get the over-decoration disorder from my mother and grandmother. I have scaled it down quite a bit. I used to swap out all the bath towels for Christmas towels, but I don't do that anymore.
DeleteThat's a lot of decorations, Always great when a story gets finished too.
ReplyDeleteIt's a lot less than I used to do! And I stopped decorating for Halloween and Valentine's Day. No one in my family notices, so why bother?
DeleteYay for long weekends! And great you're done with the story. I'm very excited about the anthology. It's so fun to be in a book with writer friends. :)
ReplyDeleteI know! I look at the list, and I'm just honored to be next to amazing writers (alphabetically we're neighbors you know!)
DeleteSo happy you got the story ready for Randi Lee's anthology! Getting the Christmas things packed up is worth celebrating too. Have fun with the boys over the weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks Deanie!! I worked on it a little again this morning. So many good authors on that list, I want to make sure my story is worthy!!
DeleteYay for all that writing. See ya for the Lost and Found :)
ReplyDeleteI had an idea for the lost and found, but it's not panning out. I may have to come up with plan C.
DeleteYay on finishing your short story for Randi. I sent mine in too this week to her. I packed up my Christmas decorations and still are finding little things hanging around. Have a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteI was going to send mine in and she said I had another week, so I obsessed over it a little more.
DeleteWe spent all of the past 2 weeks posting just to tell people we weren't here, so it's understandable. Any time the brain is working is a good day (unfortunately for us it's not every day), and cheers to the completion of your short story!
ReplyDeleteI'm so used to my brain not working that I've learned live that way. I'm a functioning airhead.
DeleteSix rooms of Christmas decorations? I'm tired just thinking about that!!! I got all of mine down just in time for New Years...but it was a multi-day job, like yours has been!
ReplyDeleteI'm doing a little less each year. Neither my kids or my husband notice, so why work so hard?
DeleteThe boys are back! Yay for writing and blogging.
ReplyDeleteWriting and blogging keeps me sane :)
DeleteCongrats on getting the story done for the anthology! Good luck getting the rest of the decorations down and have a wonderful weekend with your family!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lexa!!
DeleteSix rooms of decorations oh my goodness - I thought I was going some with four - you need all the help you can get! Have a super weekend with your family :) Special Teaching at Pempi’s Palace
ReplyDeleteNext year, I may forget the bathrooms, then I'll be down to 4 too. Or not. I do like the moose who mans the toilet during the holiday season.
DeleteYay for finishing a story!
ReplyDeleteAnd don't feel too bad about not getting the Christmas stuff put away. We only just took down our tree.
When mine goes down, I'm ready for spring. If it can't be Christmas, I have little use for winter.
DeleteCongrats on being in the anthology! That's great news.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lee!
DeleteYou're getting lots done! I'm done with The Thing That Turned Me's rough draft, but I'm struggling to sit still long enough to get to rewrites and edits.
ReplyDeleteI do fine if I can get myself to open the document. Once it's opened, I can sit for hours and barely notice the time is gone.
Deleteyay, girl! so excited to read all the stories! a sweet sampling of wonderful voices!
ReplyDeletehope you had fun with the boys and got your xmas decor down - this is where magic would come in handy!
have a great weekend!
I can't wait to read them all too. It's going to be fun. Randi is the bomb!
DeleteYay to getting that story done. And bigger yay to kids coming home!!! Since mine were home with snow days, I made them help with a 'clean-out Christmas' action. It worked like a charm :)
ReplyDeleteMine got snow days after the work was done. Oh well. They had plenty of walks to shovel :)
DeleteCongrats on the short story!!! I'm working on a series of connected ones now. :) Also, I'd love to do a guest post on the housewives blog in May/June when my book drops. :)
ReplyDeleteWoot woot!! I'll be emailing you :)
DeleteTaking down the decorations is sad times. That's awesome about the short story! :)
ReplyDeleteIt is sad to see them go. I love Christmas so much. It really is a magical time.
DeleteSounds like a porductive and successful start to the new year. YAY!! have a great time with the boys.
ReplyDeleteThanks Nicola!!
DeleteOne of five rooms? Honey, you need a daughter to help out. (Or a daughter in law? ;) Here, let me find my cloning machine... Oh wait, it was stolen...to produce an army of ninjas. *glares at someone on this comment list*
ReplyDeleteThat Alex, always greedy with the cloning machine. I'll take a daughter-in-law one day, but we'll not rush things. :)
DeleteTaking down Christmas decorations is a beast at my house too. All done now though! Hope you enjoyed your time with your boys. Your blog sounds really fun!!!
ReplyDeleteAll done with the decorations. All but the man cave. I assume that's a man place to clean up. :)
DeleteFinishing a story is always such a great feeling. Even if it's never really finished....
ReplyDeleteIsn't that the truth. I've been itching to rewrite my first book, but the publisher assures me it's fine. Though I'm pretty sure it could be better....
