Want more Blood, Boobs, and Carnage?
Alex J. Cavanaugh and Heather M. Gardner are hosting the Blood, Boobs, & Carnage Blogfest.

It's a day to celebrate the best (or worst) of of movies, books, or TV with ample amounts of sex and violence.

For my pick, there was no competition:

Flesh Gordon!

IMDb Description

I never actually saw this movie. It was released in 1974, and I was only five. I was always mature for my age, but even begging couldn't get me a ticket to this raunchy movie.

And that really made me mad.

My dad would rate movies based on their T&A value. Any movie that lacked plot, he'd still consider redeemable if it had enough naked ladies. I remember my dad suggesting Flesh Gordon, with its sex rays and dildo shaped space ship, should get an Academy Award. I never realized until I went to look it up for the hop that you can watch the entire movie on YouTube.

I'm an adult now, and my dad can't stop me from watching. Now, the biggest question is- do I still want to see it?

  1. You HAVE to watch it - for your dad. Then at least you'll be able to comment on it for real.

Enjoy visiting the rest of the participants in the BB&C Blogfest.

    1. You've convinced me. I miss my dad and any opportunity to feel like I'm communing with him in the universe is a good time.

  2. OMG Liz, that's hysterical! Only you, I swear. Only you. I don't think you'd wanna watch it at this point regardless whether Dad can stop you. Eeewwww. Lol!!

You picked a good one! It's gonna be hard to beat as far as the funnies in my book. Love you!!

  3. That's funny how your dad rated movies. I've only seen part of that one.
Thanks for participating in our blogfest!

    1. Only the master of sci-fi and the coiner of blood, boobs, and carnage would have seen this very obscure "classic".

  4. Haha! I was thinking Flesh Gordon would be a porn movie. Sounds like it was...sort of.

    1. It might have been. I don't know. How embarrassing if I just peddled porn to the world.

  5. Wow my dad rated movies the same way.

  6. I've never seen Flesh Gordon. I'm not a fan of naked ladies, so I don't think I will see it. lol

  7. Any movie with sex rays and dildo-shaped space ships has to be a winner. Even I want to watch it now.

    1. I'm going to have to watch it too. I'm going to die of embarrassment if it is a porno.

  8. I`ve seen a few scenes, but that is it. Probably not one to view not a days

    1. I figure it is pretty politically incorrect. I don't think the word had even been created yet.

  9. Never heard of that one, and although I was a huge fan of Flash Gordon, I think I'll skip on this one. :)

    1. Probably a good idea. I doubt it has any redeeming qualities. The joke is in the title and you've seen that.

  12. Good grief! I've lived such a sheltered life. I've never heard of Flesh Gordon.

    1. I probably should have been sheltered a little more.

  13. That seems like a fun, campy movie, even if it's probably not exactly great cinema. Some movies are so bad they're delicious.

    1. That is so true! It would be a good party movie.

  14. I've never heard of this, but I did love Flash Gordon. Hmmm, maybe for bad movie night?

  15. I never heard of this either. But then Flash Gordon wasn't really in the UK either.

  16. How in the world would a 5-year-old see an advertisement for this? Too funny.

    1. It was on the drive-ins marquee. I was a fan of Wonder Woman and super heroes and got all excited to see the movie. That was when my dad's staunch refusal to even let me ask to see it upped my curiosity.

  17. You know, I vaguely seem to recall seeing that film during my college days. I think some guys brought it into the dorm so that our whole floor could watch it. To be honest, I don't remember all that much about it.

    1. Hmm, college years...perhaps there was an excess of beer with that movie?

  18. Flesh Gordon; so suggestive. Get a glass of wine and some cheese one night and set yourself up. I might do that myself. Cheers to brevity, lol.

  21. Oh dang! A Flash Gordon parody! I need to suggest this to my husband, ahhaha

  22. Never seen this nor do I have a desire to! I'm not one for blood, boobs, or carnage. And definitely NOT naked women. LOL.

  23. I think I'll skip this one, but the disclaimer that its not to be mistaken for the original Flash Gordon is pretty darn funny!

THANK YOU for joining Alex and me in this EPIC blogfest!

    1. I hate to confuse anyone, Heather and have them stumble onto soft porn at my suggestion. That would be bad. Very bad.

  24. Sounds like a porn parody. Never saw it (or heard of it), so I can't make recommendations.

    1. I think you hit the nail on the head. Though, it was at my local drive in, so I'm guessing it wasn't X-rated, but can't verify for sure.

  25. I'd forgotten all about this movie. I actually did see this at a drive-in movie theater shortly after the film came out. I know I saw it but I couldn't tell you anything about the plot. If there even was a plot.
