Book News and Updates

6:00 AM Elizabeth Seckman 31 Comments

1. It's spring break for my college guys. We've had fun...even if my rotten red headed son said I ran a horrible bed and breakfast. Not once was there a mint on his pillow.

2. Christine Rains and Chrys Fey gave my books great reviews. AND I won a swag pack for the Loose Corsets tour!! I love swag. I really do. Imagine...when Christine becomes the next JK, I'm going to have autographed stuff to sell on Ebay. I'm telling you, writing will make me rich one way or another.

3. I am finally over my flu like crud and I am so happy to have my voice back!  I did have a lot of fun saying, "I am Batman", but I still prefer to sound like a girl.

GOALS UPDATE 2015:

Publish two books: on track! Wrote about 30,000 words in March.

Master marketing: Let's pretend the A-Z counts as marketing. I'm signed up for the challenge and I'm a member of the Muffin Commandos team during the challenge.

More book events: Went to Care Haven Assisted living. Excellent place to visit. Friendly people who love reading.

What I'm reading right now?

Carrie Butler released a new book earlier this March.
It's the fourth book in the Nexxus series.

This is an excellent series. It's no wonder it won the eFestival or Words best series. These stories are a fast paced blend of romance, action, and paranormal with a plenty of fun one liners only the talented Carrie can drop in.

You can buy Loyalty HERE!

But honestly? The best value is to just buy the whole series for 6.99!!

Special thanks to all of my hosts from the Defying Reason blog tour. You guys are all awesome.

Now, for the top commenters. No one can compete with Alex Cavanaugh or Pat Hatt.

They made it to every single stop! Now, I doubt these guys would much appreciate the scented soaps and necklaces from the swag pack, so you wonderful men...be watching your inbox or mailbox for your prizes!

Now, for the most frequent chick commenter...Dixie at DC Relief was the trooper.

Dixie, you win the autographed book and swag pack! Email me your address at eseckman(at)ymail(dot)com to claim your prize.

1. The snow is all melted and the sun is shining.

2. The A-Z is coming!! I have an theme.

3. It's the last day of the Defying Reason blog tour. So grateful for all the help. The blogosphere is full of wonderful people.

For the last stop...I'm visiting Jeff Hargett. Jeff is one of the sweetest bloggers. He hasn't been around much since his wife passed away, but he always makes himself available to help friends out. When Jeff offered to host me, I asked if he had any post preferences. He said it was lady's choice.

Sooo...I sent him some questions for him to answer, so we can all get caught up on what Jeff is up to, Be sure to visit and tell him how much we miss having him around.

Oh, Sweet Muffin!

Today I'm visiting Jay Noel today discussing some presidential love. Come on over and say hi!

Now, let's talk Muffins....

I'm part of C. Lee McKenzie's team to help with the A-Z Challenge. "The Muffin Commando Squad" includes Lee, Tara Tyler, Donna McDine, Tammy Theriault, Carrie Butler, Patricia Lynne, Tyrean Martinson, Yvonne Ventresca, and me. Each member of the squad is answering a few introductory questions so everyone gets to know our sweet team a little better.

**An A-Z tip by the Muffin Squad's own Yvonne...make follow backs easy by adding your link in the comment. Just be sure to replace with your own name with and blog address after you copy and paste!

Now, to answer my questions!

Who are you anyway? I am the boss. I have the answer to any question...even if I have to make it up.

Favorite Food: peanut butter. I bet you thought I'd say chocolate. A gal can't live on chocolate alone, but she can survive on peanut butter.

What kind of muffin would I be? I'll go with cinnamon. Sweet and matches my hair.

An image of myself:
Thanks to Tammy Muffin for sexying me up!

Cover Reveal and Faith

I'm visiting Tyrean Martinson today to discuss the balance between personal beliefs and literary expression. And my continued hope that God has a good sense of humor.

Before heading there...how about a whoop whoop for Cortney!! She has a new cover to reveal!

We have a wonderful cover to reveal to you today for Such A Secret Place!
Let's take a look at the author of this book, Cortney Pearson.
Cortney is a book nerd who studied literature at BYU-Idaho, a music nerd who plays clarinet in her local community orchestra, and a writing nerd who creates stories for young adults. She lives with her husband and three sons in a small Idaho farm town.

Synopsis:

When sixteen-year-old Ambry Csille's brother gets taken in one of these raids, her utter fear and panic should be enough to invoke tears in any normal world. But for Ambry, tears are a thing of the past.

Because of a spell, people can no longer feel emotion; not enough to cry, and definitely not enough to defend themselves against the tyrannical soldiers stealing her people’s magic. A rare vial of enchanted tears chooses Ambry to reverse the spell, and soon she finds herself the target not only of the Arcaians, but of battle-scarred Talon Haraway, who wants the tears for his own reasons.

All Ambry wants is to rescue her brother, but when her tears get stolen, Ambry determines to work with Talon to get them back. Any day the Arcaians could drink her tears. Any day they’ll succeed at draining her people's magic completely, and all hope will be gone—not only for her brother, but for her world.
Are you ready to see this cover!?!

1.  I got my teeth cleaned. No cavities! Or at my age? I'm happy none broke. I was eating popcorn at a football game this fall, and my tooth broke. No more grinding kernels. Can't say mom never warned me.

2. We had another blast of snow. Sure, everyone is getting tired of it, but it's still beautiful and there's a special glee in having the school call and cancel.

3. It's Cole's birthday! Oh, my goodness. Baby #2 is nineteen years old!

He went from a ham who was willing to try Alfalfa hair....

To serious guy.
Not really, this is the same ham all grown up practice his "contemplative" face.

                                                       **************************

Have you read Medeia's new book?

Excellent story. I was expecting the usual story of teen survival, which was good. But then, the story took a twist and I was totally hooked. I was close to the end, but the family wanted dinner, so I had to put the my Kindle on auto read, set it in the kitchen window, and listened to the Kindle version of Siri get me to the end.

I had ideas about what the 52 Likes was all about, but I wasn't even in the same ball park.

Check out Medeia's books Here!
